Join us for a Bike Ride on the Albany-Hudson Electric Trail starting at the Nassau Lake Trailhead

This is a free event, to provide an opportunity for fun and socializing. The Empire State Trail is #1 of the 25 best rail trails in US by outsideonline!
On your bike ready to ride by noon
We will meet at the northern parking area at 221 County Route 7, Nassau, NY 12123. Here is the bike Trail Map.
There is a food stand right down the street from the Nassau parking area: Jimmy's Lakeside Grill at 266 Co Rd 7, Nassau, NY 12123. BYOB though,
for after the ride, since food is available but not adult beverages.
The ride is approximately 12 miles each way -- total of 24 miles. The trail is mostly flat with some short moderate climbs. It is mostly paved. But there are sections that are crushed stone dust. There is also a short (200-300 yard) section that goes onto RT 203 in Chatham. The shoulder on that section is fairly wide.
The ride goes along the Valatie Kill, Kinderhook Lake, through a thoroughbred horse farm, the falls in Valatie, and other sights.
We will head south until we reach Samascott's Orchards in Kinderhook. https://www.samascott.com/ at 65 Chatham St, Kinderhook, NY 12106. They have a farm store with delicious ice cream!
Samascott's has a restroom. Additionally Stewarts is adjacent with bathrooms.
Also, should there be a need, there is a bike shop in Kinderhook 1/2 mile from Samascott's and is on the trail: Velo Domestique (Behind Bagel Tyme) at 1006 Kinderhook Street, , Valatie, NY 12184. Their number is (518) 392-3010.
Everyone at their own pace. This is a no drop ride and Clif will ride with the last rider and Barb will lead.
